Anas Jabeur Reaches the semi-finals of Wimbledon for the first time in her career

Tunisian star Anas Jabeur advanced to the semi-finals of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships by defeating Czech Marie Bouzkova 2-1 on Tuesday.
Jabeur won 3-6, 6-1, and 6-1, hitting a semi-final date with Germany’s Tatyana Maria.

World number two Anas Jaber reached the semi-finals of a major tournament for the first time in her career and became the first Arab to qualify for the semi-finals of a major tournament.

“I’m so glad, especially because it happened on this pitch that I love,” the 27-year-old said.

“I knew she would make me work for every point, and I was glad I woke up in the second set and then played very well in the third.”

Jaber, who was the first Arab player to reach the quarter-finals of a major tournament in the Australian Open in 2020, will face her friend Maria to compete for the final card.

“Tatiana loved her, she’s a great friend, my barbecue partner!” she said of her German rival.
