Chelsea signed with Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly
English club Chelsea announced on their official website the signing of Senegal international Kalidou Koulibaly from Naples, Italy, as the team’s second deal under coach Thomas Tuchel.
“I’m very happy to be here at Chelsea, it’s a big world team, and it’s always been my dream to play in the English Premier League,” Koulibaly said in remarks to the Blues.
“Chelsea tried to join me in 2016 but it didn’t work, now when they came to me, I accepted it because they wanted to come to the Premiership to play with them, and when I spoke to my close friends Edu (Edward Mendy) and Jorginho, they made my choice easier so I’m happy here.”
He concluded: “I want to thank the fans because I saw so many of them in London and on the plane everyone was happy to be here, so I want to thank them and I hope the season is really good and we will give the fans some good moments.”
