FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is the most successful edition of the World Cup; FIFA President Gianni Infantino said Friday at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 the most successful edition of a World Cup.

As for the 2026 World Cup, Infantino said FIFA wanted to maintain the formation of groups of 4 teams and not 3 as previously proposed to keep the pleasure and excitement of the first round.
