Mondial Eugene: Gold Pole Vault for American Nagyot

American Katie Nagyot won the pole vault competition at the World Athletics Championships in the American city of Eugene.

Nagyot achieved her world title by jumping 4.85 m in her first attempt, the best number of the season, beating her compatriot Sandy Morris who jumped the same barrier but at the second attempt, while the bronze returned to Australia’s Nina Kennedy (4.80 m).

Nagyot, 31, added the world Olympic title last summer against Angelica Sidorova of Russia and Holly Bradshaw of Britain.
