Record Crowd Attendance at Women’s European Championship final; The public audience for the final Women’s European Championship match between hosts England and Germany, 87,192 on Sunday at London’s Wembley Stadium, broke the record for crowd numbers in the continental competition.
The previous figure of 79,115 spectators was recorded in the 1964 men’s final in Spain when the title was crowned at the expense of the Soviet Union (2-1).

The absolute crowd record in a women’s football match was broken twice last spring by Barcelona, Spain, on the Camp Nou, Europe’s only stadium with more crowds than Wembley.

On 23 April, 91,648 spectators attended the Women’s Champions League semi-final between Barcelona and Germany’s Wolfsburg.
