Uganda’s Cheptegei retains 10,000 meters race title

Ugandan sprinter Joshua Cheptegei retained his world champion title in the 10 thousand meters when he won gold at the World Athletics Championships-Oregon 2022.

Cheptegei, the defending Olympic champion, and world race record, traveled the distance in 27.27: 43 minutes on his best timing of the season, with compatriot Jacob Kiplimo receiving bronze (27.27: 97 min), while silver was the share of Kenya’s Stanley Whitehaka Mboro (27.27: 90 min)
