The History of NBA

The National Basketball Association (NBA), also called the NBA, is the most professional and one of the largest sports leagues in North America. The league consists of thirty clubs, twenty-nine of which are from the United States and one club from Canada is the Toronto Raptors.

The history of NBA, the league was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946, and was then known as the Federation of the American Basketball Association. In 1949, the United States Basketball Association of America (BAA) was merged with National Basketball League (NBL) rivals to officially announce the birth of the National Basketball League (NBL). Basketball is one of the most popular sports among sports in the United States.

The most winning club is the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics, having each won the title 17 times, then the Chicago Bulls and Golden State Warriors with 6 championships each, and then the San Antonio Spurs, who own 5 championships.

The Beginnings

The American Basketball Association was founded in 1946 by owners of ice hockey courts in the Northeast and the Central-Western United States and Canada On November 1, 1946, in Toronto, the Toronto Husky welcomed the New York Knicks to the Maple Leaf Garden Stadium in a game that the NBA regarded as the first game in its history. Although there have been few attempts to establish basketball leagues, the American League (the predecessor to the National Basketball Association) was the first widely held tournament.

American Basketball Association

The American Basketball Association (ABA) was founded as a replacement for the NBA in 1967 at a time when the NBA was much more popular. The American Basketball Association offered an alternative spirit and a new style of game as well as some rule changes. Julius Irving was the league’s leading player, helping to launch a modern style of play centered on jumping and playing over the edge. The league emphasized excitement and vitality, whether it be in the color of the ball (red, white, and blue), the way of playing, and increasing points such as three plays. National recognition and profits were low, prompting the league to seek a way out of its problems. The merger with the most successful and consistent NBA was seen as the solution. The NBA was merged with the NBA in the summer of 1976.

Competition System

The NBA season usually begins in the first week of November and ends with the final round between the Eastern Division champion and the Western Division champion in June. Before the season kicks off, teams gather in October each year to set up preparation camps. The Regular Season starts in November and ends in April.

The playoff is held from late April until June, and the Eastern Division and Western Division champions will end up qualifying for the final to determine the competition’s champion, which is usually held in June. The summer break then starts from July until September.

The All-Star Game brings together Eastern and Western Division stars and takes place in February.

Players System

Before the start of the season, the coach of each team identifies a list of 12 players entering the tournament called the active list. It also identifies three players on the inactive roster who are mostly registered players in the National League of the Development Group. During the season it is the coach’s right to rely only on the 12 players on the active roster. If a player is injured from the active roster during the season, the coach can replace him with another player from the inactive list even before the game kicks off by 60 minutes.

League of the National Development Association

The NBA Development League launched its first edition in 2001, to prepare players and strengthen their experience to participate later in the Professional League. It currently has 16 teams.

Ticket prices

In 2012 one ticket cost $10 to $3,000 as the price variation is associated with the seat place and strength of the opposite teams.

Current Teams

The NBA was founded in 1946 with 11 teams, and through a series of team expansions, cuts, and transfers, the league is currently made up of 30 teams. The United States is home to 29 teams. Another team in Canada is Toronto Raptors.

The current league organization divides 30 teams into two (western and eastern); These sections are then divided into three sections; Each consists of five teams. The current divisional alignment was introduced in the 2004-05 season. reflecting the population distribution of the United States and Canada as a whole, most periodic teams are located in the eastern half of the country; 13 teams in the eastern time zone, nine in the central time zone, three in the mountain, and five in the Pacific region.
