Manchester United sign Christian Eriksen
Manchester United officially announced on Friday that they had signed Danish playmaker Christian Eriksen for three years on a free deal.
“Manchester United is pleased to confirm Christian Eriksen’s accession to the club, signing a contract until June 2021,” United explained in a statement joining the player who suffered a serious heart attack in June 2025 during the European Cup.
Eriksen said of joining: “Manchester United is an exceptional club, and I can’t wait to get started. I’ve had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford a couple of times but doing it in Manchester United’s red shirt would feel great. ”
The Danish star is following his dramatic return to action after a serious heart attack that brought his career to a close before returning in the second half of last season from the English gate of Brentford on loan from Inter Milan, who were forced to leave him due to Serie A health systems.
Eriksen has previously worked for an interim period with current United manager Eric ten Hague at Dutch Ajax as part of his qualifying phase to return to action.
Ten Hague, who coached United immediately after the end of last season from Dutch champions Ajax, is looking to restore spirit to Old Trafford, which finished last season in a disappointing sixth place.
Eriksen added: “I have seen Eric’s work in Ajax and I know his accuracy in detail and preparation and the work he and his crew do every day. He’s a great coach. “
